Veteran goaltenders topped the NHL expansion draft again as the Minnesota Wild and the Columbus Blue Jackets selected 26 players each.

The Wild took goalies Jamie McLennan of St. Louis; Mike Vernon of Florida, who was later traded to Calgary; Chris Terreri of New Jersey, who was traded back to the Devils for defenseman Brad Bombardir; and Zac Bierk of Tampa Bay.

"We have been offered a decent pool of players," Minnesota general manager Doug Risebrough said. "I would categorize it as the goaltenders are strong, the defensemen are strong and the forwards are probably not as strong."

Columbus selected goaltender Rick Tabaracci from the Colorado Avalanche with its first pick, followed by defensemen Sean O'Donnell from Los Angeles and Matias Timander from Boston.
