Sabres Win Again At FlyersArchived from 2000-01 season. | |
Jay McKee scored with 1:58 left in overtime to lift the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers and a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinals.
"It was the biggest goal I ever scored," said McKee, who scored only one goal in the regular season. The Sabres won both games in Philadelphia as the series moves to Buffalo for Games 3 and 4. "It's a disappointing loss," Flyers forward John LeClair said. "We're in a bit of a hole, but it's not impossible to climb out of. We found that out last year." In the second round of the playoffs last year, the Flyers won four straight against the Pittsburgh Penguins after losing the first two games at home. "We feel very good as to where we are. You can't get any better being up, 2-0," Hasek said. "We know that they've won in Buffalo twice, so we have to be really sharp because they have proven that they can win in our building. Nothing is over, we know that, and it's possible that we will back in this building next week." |
