Andy Delmore tipped in the winning goal with five minutes left in the game as the Philadelphia Flyers beat Buffalo 3-2 to cut the Sabres' lead in the series to two games to one.
"It was kind of a scrambly play coming across the blue line, went off a couple of feet," Delmore explained. "Langkow picked it up, saw me and made a heckuva pass over somebody's stick. I was lucky enough to get some wood on it." Delmore was a healthy scratch in the first two games of the series and didn't find out he was playing until 90 minutes before the game. "It was really sweet," Delmore said. "From not playing the first two games to being able to help the team out and get a victory. What more can you ask for?" Kent Manderville and Simon Gagne also scored for the Flyers, who had lost the first two games at home. Roman Cechmanek stopped 26 shots to record his first playoff victory. "We made two big mistakes, two turnovers," said Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. "We turned it over and they scored, that's the difference. They found the hole and we did not." |
