Curtis Brown scored 6:13 into overtime to give the Buffalo Sabres a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers and a 3-1 lead in the first round series.

"We were battling along the wall, I was walking out just trying to find some open space," Brown said. "When it shut down there early, I just hung on to it. Luckily things opened up a bit. I shot it up top and found a spot for us."

Miroslav Satan, Donald Audette and Chris Gratton also scored for the Sabres, who squandered two one-goal leads before overtime.

"Almost any time we make a turnover, it costs us a goal," said Dominik Hasek, who stopped 30 shots. "Ten minutes left, you are on the power play, these things shouldn't happen. We cannot make mistakes like that."

Daymond Langkow, Simon Gagne and Dan McGillis scored for the Flyers, who have never overcome a 3-1 playoff series deficit to win.

"It's been done before and New Jersey did it to us last year," said Flyers defenseman Andy Delmore. "It's not like we're down 3-0, we've got one. We're going to have to be ready to go the next game."
