Rookie goalie Miikka Kiprusoff, who was making his debut playoff start, stopped 39 shots as the San Jose Sharks beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 to tie the first round series 2-2.
Kiprusoff was a last-minute replacement for Evgeni Nabokov, who came down with the flu one night after shaky performance in Sharks 6-3 loss in Game 3. Sharks got goals from Vincent Damphousse, Scott Thornton and Owen Nolan in the first 13 minutes of the second period. Game 5 is in St. Louis on Thursday. |
