Mark Recchi scored the game-winner and Roman Cechmanek made 25 saves as the Philadelphia Flyers beat Buffalo 3-1 to cut the Sabres' lead in the series to 3-2.
"The seas kind of parted and I just wanted to make sure I got it on net," said Recchi. "It was a great 4-on-3. We had a lot of chances." Simon Gagne and Chris Therien also scored for the Flyers, who stayed alive but will face elimination again in Game 6 on Saturday in Buffalo. "We just bought ourselves a few more days," said Keith Primeau, who had two assists. Dominik Hasek drew a 10-minute misconduct penalty in the third period by throwing his pad to the ice in disgust after Keith Primeau collided into him. "I didn't even try to make a save, because I know he's coming out at my knees," Hasek said. "I was protecting myself. That's why I was so upset." "That's asinine," Primeau said. |
