Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh
series

The Buffalo Sabres finally solved rookie goalie Johan Hedberg in a 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, who still lead the series 2-1.

"We didn't change much," Said Sabres forward Miroslav Satan, who scored in the third period. "We may have gone a little bit more to the net. Hedberg made some great saves on us the last game. You just have to keep shooting."

Curtis Brown tied the game in the second period and Jason Woolley tipped in the game-winner in the third period. James Patrick added an empty-net goal to make it 4-1.

"The third game had to come our way, if it doesn't we're in a lot of trouble and we know that," Woolley said. "I think you have to give our guys credit for not trying to force the envelope. We were able to put aside the thought that losing this game would put us in deep trouble."

"We did what they did to us," said Doug Gilmour. "When they came into our building, they waited and waited, and when they had some chances they capitalized. We had to be patient, too."
