Patrick Roy made 28 saves as the Colorado Avalanche beat the St. Louis Blues 4-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals.
"Patrick has been tremendous the last five or six games," said Colorado captain Joe Sakic, whose assist gave him five points in the first two games of the series. "Playing like that gives the guys a lot of confidence with the puck. That allows us to stay focused and play the game." Ray Bourque, Adam Foote, Shjon Podein and Chris Drury each scored for the Avs. "Being up by two games really puts the pressure on the Blues right now," Sakic said. "I know that being down 2-0 is a tough hole," St. Louis coach Joel Quenneville said. "But we go home and get some momentum back. We need to get a win under our belt." |
