Brian Sutter was hired as the coach of the Blackhawks, the team announced on Thursday. Sutter replaces Alpo Suhonen, whp stepped down with a heart condition in March.
"It's a sports city where the fans want to see an honest effort for an honest dollar," said Sutter, who is Chicago's sixth coach since 1995.
