The Detroit Red Wings added another aging star by signing free agent Brett Hull to two-year deal reportedly worth $9 million.
"By signing Brett Hull we have added significant punch to the right side," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said. "He has a tremendous goal scoring ability and is one of the greatest goal scorers in the history of the game." The 37-year-old Hull, who spent the last three years with the Dallas Stars, joins goaltender Dominik Hasek, 36, and left wing Luc Robitaille, 35, as major offseason acquisitions by Detroit. Hasek arrived in a trade, Robitaille signed as a free agent. Hull has scored 649 goals with 534 assists for 1,183 points in 1,019 games. He has appeared in 163 career playoff games, recording 90 goals and 76 assists for 166 points. |
