Robitaille Inks With WingsArchived from 2001-02 season. | |
Luc Robitaille signed a two-year contract worth $9 million with the Detroit Red Wings.
Robitaille, who played for Los Angeles last season, moved on quickly after receiving an insulting low ball offer from the Kings. Los Angeles offered him a one-year deal with a pay cut. "I'm happy because I'm going to a team that's wants to win," Robitaille said. "The one thing I have left to do in my career is to win the Cup, and now I'm going to a team that has that chance." "Adding an offensive player to our team was a priority, and we feel we have addressed that with this addition," Detroit general manager Ken Holland said. "We are absolutely pleased to have agreed to terms with Luc." "The Kings talked to me last Thursday, one year at a pay cut. I was shocked," Robitaille said. |
