Stars Sign Turgeon, AudetteArchived from 2001-02 season. | |
The Dallas Stars signed former St. Louis Blue Pierre Turgeon to a five-year contract. The Stars also inked free agent Donald Audette to a four-year contract.
"I was never convinced that Pierre Turgeon was going to be available today," Stars general manager Bob Gainey said. "There were players dancing in our heads as potential players to look at. Some of those players we projected became concrete. We feel we've made a mark by convincing and coming to an agreement with Pierre Turgeon." Audette had career-highs of 34 goals and 45 assists with Atlanta and Buffalo last season. "The signing of Donald Audette gives us greater depth with our group of forwards," Gainey said. "He has distinct offensive talents and the drive and to compete in difficult offensive areas." |
