Belfour Out With Sore ThumbArchived from 2002-03 season. | |
Maple Leafs goaltender Ed Belfour most likely will miss the next three games because of an infected right thumb.
"It's not real good. It's pretty weak," said Belfour. "It feels like a broken bone just because of the swelling." Belfour had cut his thumb after the final exhibition game, nicking it on the eyelet of one of his gloves. The thumb started swelling on the flight home from Pittsburgh on Thursday, after he had played well in a 6-0 shutout of the Penguins. "It wasn't anything I needed stitches for," he said. "Just something I had to bandage up. I've never had anything like this in my whole career or my life." |
