Flyers Even SeriesMay 15, 2004 | |
Keith Primeau scored the game-winner shorthanded in the second period as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 to even the Eastern Conference finals two games apiece.
"There are certain stages in your season and certain stages in a critical playoff series where captains have to step up, and he stepped up again," Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock said. "It's not surprising." "Philadelphia is a very good hockey team and they found a way tonight," Lightning coach John Tortorella said. "We found a way the other night. Now it's 2-2 and we have a heck of a series going." Game Five is on Tuesday in Tampa. "At the end of the day, it's a loss and that's that," Lightning defenseman Darryl Sydor said. "We have to regroup for Game 5 at home. The next game is just huge." "He's really taken charge of a lot of games," John LeClair said of Primeau. "He was the difference out there every time he was on the ice." |
