Sharks Pull EvenMay 16, 2004 | |
The San Jose Sharks scored four goals in the second period on their way to a 4-2 victory over the Calgary Flames to even the Western Conference finals two games apiece.
"It's back to square one," Sharks coach Ron Wilson said. "Obviously, we have to win a home game here. I bet you a lot of people in San Jose didn't think we were coming back and having an opportunity to play tomorrow." "We're going to go home, get some rest and do exactly the same things we did here," said Sharks' Mike Rathje, who scored his first goal of the playoffs. "We know how to win at home -- really." "Hey, if somebody told us we would be 2-2 in the conference finals, I'm sure we would say, 'Hey, that's where we want to be,'" Flames coach Darryl Sutter said. "But my biggest concern is we had a couple guys not play very well for us tonight. That's what concerns me more than where we're at or where we're playing." Game 6 is back in Calgary on Wednesday night. "We can say right now that we do have momentum, but we all know how that can change," Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov said. "If you're not prepared, if you're not working hard for even two minutes, it's gone." |
