Lehtinen Returns From IR

The Dallas Stars on Wednesday activated right wing Jere Lehtinen from injured reserve and put center Manny Malhotra on non-playing waivers.

"I feel good, and I want to play," said Lehtinen, who is expected to play Wednesday. "We just have to play better and get a win. I hope I can help the team do that. It's not one guy. It's not two guys or five guys. It's the whole team."

Lehtinen, who is a the three-time Selke Award winner, injured his back and shoulder in the season opener and has missed the last 16 games. He led the Stars with a career-high 31 goals last season.

"He does everything so well and makes it easy for me and whoever is playing with him," Stars captain Mike Modano said.
