The happiest team on EarthArchived from 1997-98 season.Left wing Paul Kariya has ended his holdout and signed a two-year contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim reportedly worth $5.5 million this year and $8.5 million next year. "We agreed at about 7 or 8 o'clock (Pacific time) last night," said Kariya. "We presented four or five proposals to Jack (general manager Jack Ferreira), and he gave us one back that we liked. I'm real happy to get this done." The Ducks have been flying south lately. They are 0-4-1 in their last five games, scoring only seven goals during that span. Will Kariya's return kickstart Anaheim remains to be seen. It will take some pressure off right wing Teemu Selanne, whose 24 goals are staggering 34.3 % of the team's offense.
