The Chicago Blackhawks fired coach Lorne Molleken on Tuesday after missing the playoffs again.
"I met with Lorne Molleken this morning and informed Lorne he would not be the head coach next year," The team's manager of hockey operations Mike Smith announced. The Blackhawks finished 33-39-10 with 78 points, 11th out of 13 teams in the Western Conference. "Coaching is part of it but it's not the only part of it," Smith said. "Things really do in fact need to be operated differently here." |
