It's all tied up | |
All but two series are tied after two games. Pittsburgh evened their series against Montreal, 4-1, but St. Louis took a two game lead over Los Angeles, 2-1.
The Philadelphia Flyers said before the game that they were desperate and after blowing a two-goal lead in the third period they were. But Eric Lindros found John LeClair with a great pass for the winner with 2 minutes left to give them a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Series tied 1-1. Doug Gilmour showed that he's the man by scoring two goals and setting another as the New Jersey Devils beat the upstart Ottawa Senators, 3-1, to even the series. In a game that featured ten fighting majors the Colorado Avalanche took care of business and beat the Edmonton Oilers, 5-2. Peter Forsberg had two goals and three assists to help the Avs to even series. "We really needed this," Forsberg said. "I think the key tonight was we played for 60 minutes and we didn't let them get into the game." The Dallas Stars won their second game against San Jose, 5-2, but lost Mike Modano to a concussion. Dallas had already lost Joe Nieuwendyk for two weeks after he suffered a torn ACL in Game 1. Double overtime was needed before Boston secured a 4-3 victory over Washington. Series tied 1-1. The Phoenix Coyotes pulled a 7-4 win over defending champion Detroit to tie the series. |
