2001 Playoffs

Joe Sakic and Chris Drury scored two goals each and Rob Blake had a goal and threee assists as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 in the opener of a Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Drury had the game-winner on a breakaway with 1:07 left in the third period to prevent a major upset from happening.

Mattias Ohlund, Trent Klatt, Todd Bertuzzi and Ed Jovanovski scored for the Canucks.
