Cujo Stonewalls Senators AgainArchived from 2000-01 season. | |
Curtis Joseph made 37 saves for his second shutout in less than 24 hours, and Gary Roberts scored twice as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators 3-0 to take a 2-0 lead in the first-round series.
"We haven't won anything yet," said Joseph, "Momentum is on our side now and we want to keep it going as long as we can. It's a good start, for sure. You've got to feel good about yourself right now. But we're still a long way from closing out the series." The Senators, who lost to the Maple Leafs in six games in the first round last year, have dig themselves in a hole as the series moves to Toronto for Games 3 and 4. "I don't know if we're shocked, but it's a check of our character," Senators coach Jacques Martin said. "You have to believe in yourself and keep things simple. We just have to keep competing hard." |
