Flyers Pull EvenArchived from 2002-03 season. | |
Michal Handzus scored his first career playoff goal and Roman Cechmanek stopped all 28 shots as the Philadelphia Flyers shut out the Ottawa Senators with a 1-0 victory to even the second-round series at two games apiece.
"It doesn't matter if it's a shutout or 5-4, it's the playoffs and we need to win," Cechmanek said. Cechmanek earned his second shutout of the series and third of his playoff career, bouncing back from an overtime loss in Game Three on a shot he never saw. "Each and every guy played very well," Cechmanek said. "We played well defensively and I think tonight, we played like a team. ... That's the way I expect every game to now be against Ottawa." Handzus scored his first career playoff goal by deflecting a wrist shot by Chris Therien from just inside the blue line into the top left corner, over Patrick Lalime's shoulder. "We weren't able to get the speed going from our own end," Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson said. "We got tied up as soon as we hit their zone." The series shifts back to Ottawa for Game Five on Saturday. |
