Tampa Bay Lightning will pick first in the NHL entry draft without winning the lottery. Florida Panthers won the lottery despite the Lightning having the best odds because they finished last in the regular season. However, the Panthers had traded the pick to San Jose who had traded it to Tampa. After all is said and done the order for the first round in June 27 draft in Buffalo, N.Y. looks like this:

 4. Vancouver

 6. Calgary
 7. N.Y. Rangers
 8. Toronto
 9. N.Y. Islanders
