Robitaille gets his 1000th pointArchived from 1997-98 season. | ||
"It's a fun milestone to achieve, but I want to keep playing. I expect to play a lot longer and there is a lot more I feel I can accomplish. I am happy it happened. It is going to be a great thing to realize when I'm retired, but now I have to keep moving. We have to win the next game." Robitaille spent eight seasons with the Kings before being traded to Pittsburgh in 1994. The Kings reacquired him in a trade with the New York Rangers on August 28. He has been one of the key elements in the Kings' recent upsurge by scoring big goals and providing leadership in the locker room for the young team. Looking back his career, Robitaille said: "I think the first few years I wanted to prove to everybody that I belonged in the league. Everybody always said I was too slow, so it was a challenge for me. And now the challenge for me is to show that I'm a winner. That's the most important thing for a player." |
