Stars shine brightArchived from 1997-98 season. | ||
The Stars pulled within two points of the Devils for the best overall record in the NHL. Dallas also completed a series sweep that just might give them the psychological edge should these teams meet in the Stanley Cup finals. On the trading deadline Dallas made moves clearly designed for this year's playoffs. They traded promising forward Todd Harvey to the Rangers for veterans Mike Keane and Brian Skrudland. "I think the message from the players to fans and management the last two years has been, 'We want to win.' We had to answer that message," Stars GM Bob Gainey said. Dallas has been riddled with injuries in the second half of the season with many key players out of the lineup. But that situation is improving with Sergei Zubov already playing and Mike Modano probably returning for the playoffs. The playoffs are just a few weeks away and Dallas will be ready. The team has shown strength and unrelenting spirit throughout the season and that will carry over to the playoffs. The Stars have all it takes to win the Cup. |
