Tkachuk ends holdoutArchived from 1998-99 season. | |
Left wing Keith Tkachuk ended his holdout on Friday night and signed one-year contract extension with the Phoenix Coyotes. Terms of the contract, which covers 2000-2001 season, were not disclosed.
The team had officially suspended Tkachuk when he failed to show up at the training camp. Tkachuk also missed all of training camp last season due to a contract holdout. "We are very pleased to sign Keith to a one-year contract extension," said general manager Bobby Smith. "Keith is one of the premier power forwards in the game today, and we are excited about having him back in our lineup." Tkachuk, 26, will join the team over the weekend and Monday there will be a press conference with general manager Smith. "I am extremely happy to be back with the team," Tkachuk said in a statement. "I have always stated that Phoenix is the city I love and want to play in. Now I can put this behind me and concentrate on one thing -- playing hockey." |
