The Los Angeles Kings showed off their new uniforms in star-studded event at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. The new logo combines their old purple with the more recent silver and black colors.

"The other one was the first jersey I ever put on in the NHL and I'm always going to remember it," said Rob Blake, the team captain. "The new jersey is different. This is another step in the career of the Kings. I think it's an addition."

The team last changed its look 10 years ago. Each element of the new logo is said to represent the team or the market. The crown, represents the history of the team, the sun is a reflection of Southern California, and the lion, which is a feature element in the city of Los Angeles' coat-of-arms, symbolizes strength and character.

"I really like them," Luc Robitaille said. "It's really important that the players like them so you feel comfortable and they look great. If they're going to bring us the cup... that's the bottom line."
