The Florida Panthers finally have a new coach. Terry Murray was hired to fill the post by his brother, Florida's GM Bryan Murray who coached the last 59 games of last season after firing Doug McLean.
Terry Murray's last coaching job was with the Philadelphia Flyers from whick post he was fired after the Flyers were swept in the 1997 Stanley Cup finals by Detroit. He sounded excited about his new job. "I jumped on the opportunity right away because I knew it could work," Terry Murray said. "We've got some good talent on this team. Guys like Ed Jovanovski, Rhett Warrener and Viktor Kozlov are young, skilled players, but you need young guys, you need middle-aged guys, and you need older guys. The most important thing you need is chemistry." |
