Brian Boucher played another strong game stopping 24 shots as Philadelphia beat New Jersey 3-1 to take a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference finals.

"I believe that our style of play is suited to winning anywhere. I have said that all along," interim Flyers coach Craig Ramsay said.

Mark Recchi, Craig Berube and Simon Gagne scored for the Flyers, who can end the series Monday in Philadelphia and advance to the Stanley Cup finals.

"We don't think about that. We can't let ourselves start thinking like that," Recchi said. We've got an opportunity now and we have to try and take advantage of it."

Bobby Holik scored for the Devils, who have lost three straight after winning the series opener in Philadelphia and now face elimination in Game 5.

"I know this club is good enough to go to Philly and win a game and then go on from there," Holik said. "We don't concern ourselves with winning three straight to win the series right now. We have to put together three good periods of hockey, and believe that if we do, we'll win in Philly."

The Flyers took a 1-0 lead in the first period after Martin Brodeur made terrible clearing attempt behind his net putting the puck in Gagne's stick. He fired immediately towards the net and Recchi tipped the puck in the net.

Boucher kept the Devils from the scoreboard until Holik's goal in the second period. Berube buried New Jersey's hopes in the third period by reflecting a shot by Dan McGillis past Brodeur into the net for the winning goal.

Gagne added an insurance goal for the Flyers with 3:20 left in the third period.

"There's a big difference between 2-2 and 3-1 and going home," said John LeClair. "Now we're 60 minutes from going to the Cup. We'll be ready to play on Monday."

The Flyers last trip to the Stanley Cup finals was in 1997, when they were swept by the Detroit Red Wings.
