Canucks go Keenan
The Vancouver Canucks fired head coach Tom Renney Thursday and hired Mike Keenan as his replacement. Keenan returns to NHL and coaching after being fired from his last job with the St. Louis Blues. Keenan will reunite with Mark Messier, the two helped the New York Rangers win a Stanley Cup title in 1994 against the Canucks. "We'll position ourselves and work diligently toward the ultimate objective, and that is to win the Stanley Cup." Keenan said. This is Keenan's fifth coaching job in the NHL. His other teams were NY Rangers, St. Louis, Chicago and Philadelphia. Copyright©1997 The HockeyNut |
