After starting the season with six winless games, the Philadelphia Flyers are getting their house in order quickly.

Sunday night the Flyers won their fourth straight game by beating the Florida Panthers 2-0. The biggest reason for Philadelphia's surge is goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck, who earned his third straight shutout.

"We're in this together, that's why it's called a team," said Vanbiesbrouck. "Together everyone achieves more. How much of the win is me is insignificant. I get a lot of credit because it's a shutout. Still, it's a team thing and it's huge for us. We like to complete hockey games."

Jody Hull scored against his former team with 6:20 left in the opening period and Eric Lindros added an empty-net goal for the Flyers, who all the sudden are on top of the Atlantic Division with New Jersey.

"We've been doing a good job of keeping the shot total down," Lindros said. "When they have been getting through, we've gotten great goaltending. There is not much you can say about Beezer's play, other that's it's been perfect."

Florida played without their star forward Pavel Bure, who has missed five game due to a groin pull. Also missing form the lineup were Ray Whitney and Bret Hedican also out with groin injuries.

"Without Bure and Whitney it makes a big difference. Bure is a dynamite player and a tremendous goal scorer." said Florida coach Terry Murray. "We had our opportunities. We had chances late to get a tie."

Vanbiesbrouck, who has not allowed a goal in the last 214:27, is close to his club record and career high scoreless string of 218:42 established last season when he had three consecutive shutouts for the first time, also a Flyers record.

"We're playing one shift at a time, not looking too far ahead," Vanbiesbrouck said. "We're doing the nuts and bolts things and getting it done."
