Radek Bonk scored a goal and added an assist as the Ottawa Senators won the battle of the top two teams in the Northeast Division with a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"It's an important game," said Shawn McEachern, who scored the game-winning goal in the third period. "We didn't want Toronto to get too far away from us."

Marian Hossa also scored for the Senators, who scored three unanswerd goals after Jonas Hoglund has given the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead in the early in the second period.

"Tonight, we didn't play solid," Hoglund said. "We didn't get any good scoring chances. We worked hard but we couldn't get anything going."

Ottawa snapped a five-game winless streak and moved within five points of the Maple Leafs. They have won both games against Toronto this season.

Daniel Alfredsson is back in the Ottawa's lineup, but injuries are still hampering the team. The Senators were without defensemen Sami Salo (broken wrist), Jason York (groin strain), Chris Phillips (ankle), Igor Kravchuk (sprained knee) and Kevin Dineen (groin).
