The Devils are trying to avoid last year's early exit from the playoffs. They have a new coach and a new system that allows more offensive freedom than the all-defense traps of the past.
The Penguins fared better than many expected for most of the season, but started to show serious problems during the last month of regular season. They have Jaromir Jagr, but it probably won't be enough.
