Sens End Flyers Season

Archived from 2001-02 season.
Martin Havlat scored 7:33 into overtime to lift Ottawa to a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, and send the Senators to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 1998.

Ottawa won the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal series 4-1 and advances only for the second time in the franchise's modern history.

The Flyers, despite of several All-Star players and a $58 million payroll, earned the dubious record of having scored the fewest goals in a five-game series in the NHL history with just two goals.
