Outlook:
Colorado is much improved with Ray Bourque. He has changed them defensively and the Avalanche is still strong offensively, even without Peter Forsberg. Phoenix struggled massively in the last month and it looks like another early exit for the franchise that hasn't gone beyond first round since 1989.

Colorado is hungry and confident again. Patrick Roy in the net will be strong. Joe Sakic, Chris Drury, Milan Hejduk and Bourque will be hot.

Phoenix will get a boost from getting Keith Tkachuk back. Sean Burke has been strong in the Coyotes net, but their defense has been shaky. Phoenix can't take many chances against Colorado's power-play.

Prediction:
Avalanche in five.
